Four of us enjoyed a very pleasant lunch there today. Of our three courses, all were absolutely delicious. Snail/Duck - Very tasty. Fair price. Well served. No complaints.

Food was lovely, we had drinks on the terrace after our lunch. The staff were attentive, ensuring everything was perfect without being overbearing. Hoping the other terrace by the entrance will be opened either for the peak summer season or next year.

The location is very beautiful and a great spot to relax and watch the fish and ducks swimming by or just watch the wier flowing. The food is really good. They sell various delicous treats to take home brioche, oils, vinegars, and savoury jellies plus some bottles of wines and other drinks. Good place to buy a gift fir someone who loves good food and drinks. I hope to go back there soon for a meal or just a coffee. I have never stayed there only popped in.

We booked lunch here and were seated outside on the terrasse. Staff were friendly and polite, service was quick, but we were not rushed- we were the last to leave! We were surprised- and a little disappointed- to find no menu du jour, but we all opted for three courses from their à la carte menu washed down with two bottles of white wine. Snail croquettes, sardines and lamb terrine; 4 x chicken; 1 x Chocolate tart, 1 x red fruit and meringue, 2 x french toast. All meals were enjoyed and we left full. The only negative point about the food was that my chips had far too much salt on, but more chips were due to arrive rather than added to our plates and they were fine, so I did what I always do in these situations and gave mine to my husband to eat and took some of the fresh ones which were absolutely fine!

If you like texture this is a fabulous place to eat. The metal of the watermill parts set against gorgeous stone with a ceramic log burner inside. We all loved the food, including the duck (a great speciality of the Charente, the fish, Pollock with what can only be described as posh mushy peas and more. Desert was beautiful too with subtle combinations of fresh strawberries, steeped in a magical liquid. We could not dine in the riverside garden due to the weather and can see that would also be a great treat. Best Sunday lunch in a long time. And dog friendly too. Brought water for the dogs without bding asked. Nice selection of regional wines, many by the glass. I was driving so didn't have any. Even the table water tasted pleasant

Really nice food. The starters were delicious. Very welcoming staff and lovely location. A must in the area. We had a great time. Kids friendly despite the slightly upscale atmosphere.

If you can go to try their brioche, go. You won't be disappointed. So tasty. Location on the river is first rate with chateau above and water below. Truly amazing.
